Living at Broken Chains
House Rules & Expectations
Our rules exist to protect every resident's recovery. A safe, structured environment is the foundation of lasting sobriety.
Structure Is Part of Recovery
At Broken Chains, our house rules are not punishments — they are the framework that makes recovery possible. Every resident agrees to these expectations upon admission. Consistent accountability creates the safety and trust that allow healing to happen.
Sobriety & Substance Use
- Zero tolerance for alcohol, illegal drugs, or non-prescribed medications on the premises or in your system.
- Random drug and alcohol testing is conducted regularly. Refusal to test is treated as a positive result.
- Residents on MAT or controlled substances must keep all medications in a lockbox and disclose them to house management.
- Any relapse must be reported immediately. Residents who relapse may be asked to leave and are encouraged to seek higher-level care.
Curfew
- Curfew is 10:30 PM Sunday through Thursday and 11:00 PM Friday and Saturday.
- Overnight passes require advance approval from house management and are not permitted during the first 30 days of residency.
Household Responsibilities
- Each resident is responsible for keeping their personal space clean and organized.
- Chores are assigned on a rotating schedule. All residents are expected to complete their assigned chores weekly.
- Common areas (kitchen, bathrooms, living room) must be cleaned after each use.
- No smoking inside the house. Designated smoking areas are provided outside.
Respect & Community
- Treat all residents, staff, and visitors with dignity and respect at all times.
- No violence, threats, intimidation, or harassment of any kind will be tolerated.
- Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Noise must be kept to a minimum during these hours.
- Guests are permitted in common areas only, during approved hours, and must be signed in. No overnight guests.
Financial & Program Obligations
- Program fee is $190 per week or $760 per month.
- All residents are expected to be actively working toward employment, education, or a structured recovery program.
- Residents must cooperate with case managers, recovery coaches, and any assigned support services.
- Residents are responsible for their own laundry. Coin-operated laundry is available on-site.
