About Us

Our Story

Broken Chains Advocacy, Inc. was founded on the belief that everyone deserves a safe, stable place to rebuild their life. We are a sober living home in Fall River, Massachusetts — not a treatment center, but a home built on courage, kindness, and community.

Mission

Our Mission

  • Broken Chains Advocacy provides safe, sober housing for individuals in recovery, empowering them to rebuild their lives with dignity, stability, and purpose.
  • We help residents see that finding the good — the best part of themselves — is what matters most.
  • By finding a new way of thinking, every person can break the chains that held them back.
  • Together, we build a new life full of meaning and purpose.

Our Vice President's Story

"You Cannot Keep What You Have Unless You Give It Away"

For years, addiction controlled my life and kept me from the people and things that mattered most. Getting sober was the hardest thing I have ever done, and I could not have done it alone. With the help of others who had walked the same road, I began to rebuild my life one day at a time.

I maintained a sober lifestyle — I was able to have my kids in my life again, secure full-time employment, and become a reliable, responsible, and productive member of society.

As my recovery journey continued, I knew that I could not have become sober without a team to help me. And now I wanted to be one of those team members — helping others with the same disease I suffered from.

Addiction is not a disease that can be fought alone, and there is no miracle cure. In the halls of AA there is a saying: "You cannot keep what you have unless you give it away."

That's what I wanted to do. I wanted to give it away — and help another sick and suffering addict find their way back.
